Miley Cyrus Says Her Family Is Fine

LOS ANGELES — Miley Cyrus says she feels more at ease heading out on an international tour now that things are fine on the home front.

Earlier this year, her parents, Billy Ray and Tish Cyrus, were getting a divorce, and her father was critical of his daughter’s behavior. But the Cyruses recently called off their divorce and the family is spending time together.

“I think it’s good, especially when you go on the road. You have to make sure everyone is happy before you start traveling, you’re away. My family is good. They are stoked for tour. As long as I’m happy they are happy,” Cyrus said in an interview on Thursday.

The former “Hannah Montana” star is leaving for South America and Australia on April 27 for her Gypsy Heart Tour. Read more…

American Idol’s Pia Toscano Scores Record Deal

Everyone can stop shedding tears for Pia Toscano because she just scored a kick ass record deal. Just one day after being eliminated from American Idol she inked a deal with Interscope Records imprint, which is chaired by Idol mentor Jimmy Iovine. Pia is being signed to a deal with Interscope Records who are rushing her into the studio to record an album ASAP,” a source familiar with the contract talks tells Us Weekly. “Starting [Thursday] night after the show, Interscope told her they wanted her and first thing [Friday] morning Interscope brass started calling every top songwriter and producer in town to get an album together and rush release it.” It’s basically a done deal, final paperwork is expected to be signed before the end of the weekend. Phoenix On World Cafe

Phoenix

The Parisian rock band Phoenix mixes ’80s rock, ’70s disco grooves, modern-day studio polish and endearing French accents to create jagged, danceable pop songs. Singer Thomas Mars and bassist Deck D’Arcy had been playing together for some time before being joined by guitarists Christian Mozzalai and Laurent Broncowitz; the quartet started out playing Hank Williams and Prince covers in local bars.

From there, it didn’t take too long for Phoenix to land a slot as a backing band for its labelmates in Air.
