Billboard Bits: ‘Idol’ Creator Sues Fox, Paul McCartney 9/11 Doc To Air on Showtime

‘American Idol’ Creator Sues Fox
TV’s most-watched show exploded into litigation today, as “American Idol” creator Simon Fuller sued Fox claiming he should be paid a rich fee for the upcoming Simon Cowell competition show “The X Factor.” According to a lawsuit filed in Los Angeles Superior Court and obtained by The Hollywood Reporter, Fuller negotiated a hefty executive producer fee and credit on “X Factor” as part of a settlement of a 2004 copyright-infringement lawsuit against Cowell when “X Factor” launched overseas. Fox, which airs “Idol” and will debut “X Factor” in September, and Fremantle North America, which produces both shows, are now refusing to honor that deal, according to the suit.

Lady Gaga rocks nude to Aussie band

LADY Gaga made a shocking admission during her Sydney sojourn – she loves our very own Airbourne.

“I am really into metal. I listen to Airbourne all the time,” she said.

“They sound so much like AC/DC, it freaks me out. Me and my friends get naked and smoke cigarettes, put lipstick on and dance around in our heels to their music.”

Airbourne, known for their hits Runnin’ Wild and Too Much, Too Young, Too Fast, were flattered by Gaga’s tales of nude rocking.

“It’s good to know that the peak of the pop world still love rock’n'roll. Goes to show that rock’n'roll will never die,” Joel O’Keeffe said.

Metallica: ‘St. Anger Was An Isolated Experiment’

Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich confessed to Classic Rock magazine that their album “St. Anger” was an isolated experiment in challenging the listener, but that as a result some people see it as their worst album.

It wasn’t like we put it out and somebody went, “Whoa! Whoops!” I view “St. Anger” as an isolated experiment“, he said. “Once in a while these boundaries have to be f–ked with… It became almost about hurting the listener, about challenging the listener, so we left the songs unedited. I can understand that people felt it was too long.

Lars went on to discuss his relationship with frontman James Hetfield, highlighting their similarities.
