Patti LaBelle To Face Lawsuit Over Airport Assault

Patti LaBelle will face a lawsuit after her security guards allegedly attacked a 23-year-old West Point cadet named Richard King at the Bush Intercontinental Airport in Houston, Texas.

King alleges that, while speaking with his brother on his cell phone near LaBelle’s limousine, he was punched repeatedly and thrown into a cement pillar.

Leaked security camera footage of the altercation is currently circulating the web and shows King attempting to stand up and falling repeatedly after the attack.

In an official statement, King’s attorney John Raley claims LaBelle gave the order for her body guards to attack the cadet.

“Apparently, defendant LaBelle believed King was standing too close to her luggage, even though he was oblivious to her presence and the danger he was in,” Raley said in the lawsuit filing. “LaBelle lowered the window of her limousine and gave a command to her bodyguards. They sprang into action.”
