The Who To Perform ‘Quadrophenia’ On Tour In 2012

Good news for classic rock fans—despite rumors that Pete Townshend was out of the rock ‘n roll game, Rolling Stone reports that The Who will reform to perform their classic album, Quadrophenia, on tour.

The reason I am not on the road with Roger is that this is entirely Rogers adventure, one that is bringing him great joy, Townshend wrote.  I dont belong on this Tommy tour. I wish him well, sincerely, and I look forward to playing with Roger again doing Quadrophenia next year.

It was rumored—especially by The Who’s Roger Daltry—that Townshend was going deaf and would be unable to play with The Who any further.  Not so, says Townshend:

Townshend completes disputes Daltreys take on the matter. My hearing is actually better than ever, he wrote on his blog. Because after a feedback scare at the O2 Indigo in December 2008 I am taking good care of it. Im 66, I dont have perfect hearing, and if I listen to loud music or go to gigs I do tend to get tinnitus. DONT WE ALL????

So as long as you don’t mind dropping about half your accumulated in wealth to buy tickets, next year is gonna be a Who fan’s dream.

What do you think of The Who news?
