Noel Gallagher Announces Solo Album

Noel Gallagher has finally revealed details of his first solo album, under the banner ‘Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds.’ The self-titled record will arrive on Oct. 17 in the UK after a productive run of recording sessions in London and LA since 2010 — so productive, in fact, that he’s already completed a second album to release next year. During the conference, Gallagher said of the first album, “There isn’t a guitar solo on it till the sixth track. It’s not f—ing ‘Guitar Hero.’ Some of it’s vaudeville, some if it’s space jazz, some of it’s kraut rock. And that’s just the first track.” The first album has seen Gallagher reunited with occasional Oasis producer Dave Sardy, who last worked with the defunct band on the 2008 release ‘Dig Out Your Soul.’ line-up of off-radar but well-regarded musicians feature on the record, with Jeremy Stacey on drums, Mikey Rowe on keyboard, guitarist Jon Graboff, and percussionists Luis Jardim and Lenny Castro. The second album is a collaboration with the group Amorphous Androgynous, a “cosmic” side-project from electronic music pioneers Future Sound of London. Gallagher will tour with the group in the autumn. The tracklist is: ‘Everybody’s on the Run’ ‘Dream On’ ‘If I Had a Gun’ ‘The Death of You and Me’ ‘(I Wanna Live in a Dream In My) Record Machine’ ‘AKA… What a Life’ ‘Soldier Boys and Jesus Freaks’ ‘AKA… Broken Arrow’ ‘(Stranded On) The Wrong Beach’ ‘Stop the Clocks’
