Morrissey Compares Eating At McDonald’s To Participating In The Norway Massacre

So… this should go over well.   Want to read the most offensive thing you’ll probably see all day—if not all week (I’d say all month, but I’m pretty sure that another celebrity will do something even dumber and more offensive by the end of the month—I mean, Lohan’s out of jail now, so it just stands to reason)?  Well, lucky us, Morrissey decided to let loose with something pretty horrible.

So what did he do?  Well, the notoriously pro-animal rights singer decided to make a comparison to the consumption of animals to the recent terror-related massacre and deaths that took place in Norway earlier this month, according to The AV Club:

So said Morrissey during a recent concert in Warsaw, where he introduced his famous anti-carnivore classic by musing, “We all live in a murderous world, as the events in Norway have shown, with 97 dead [sic]. Though that is nothing compared to what happens in McDonalds and Kentucky Fried Sh*t every day.”

Well, gosh, wouldn’t you know it, that didn’t go over so well.

Naturally, even some of his most ardent fans have taken umbrage at the suggestion that the recent tragic loss of so many young lives is comparable, let alone overshadowed by, all the many innocent chickens who have been senselessly McNuggeted. And just as naturally, Morrissey has declined to comment further, insisting through a spokesman, “His statement speaks for itself.”

So remember, gang, whenever you take part in the natural food chain of planet Earth (ok, ok, maybe McDonald’s isn’t the most natural place to eat), you’re basically a terrorist that just murdered a bunch of men, women and children.  Thanks, Moz!

What do you think of Morrissey’s statement?
