Got the Keys to the city
Perhaps the wacky rapper who climbed the street pole and bal anced for hours above Times Square earlier this week in a bizarre effort to meet Alicia Keys wasn’t so crazy after all. Keys’ Beacon Theatre gig Thursday was a four-pole spectacular, if we do say so ourselves.
Here, her complex classical training blended seamlessly with her street-smart urban style — and they combined just as smoothly as a decade ago, when she released her groundbreaking debut CD, “Songs in A Minor.”
Although this was a solo recital celebrating the anniversary of that record, the show was hardly a stuffy affair.
